[WNYLUG-Users] kgpg problem

I'm setting up kgpg for use with Thunderbird, etc..

I installed Webpg in Thunderbird and used it to create a key for my
email address.

Next, I installed kgpg and it found the key i had just created and let
me publish it to a key server.

Today, I ran the normal updates (which included Thunderbird 16) and
tried to use kgpg. It doesn't appear to do anything but complain a bit:

bigbird at ramdass:~/pq$ ps -ef | grep gpg
bigbird 1584 1531 0 14:37 ? 00:00:00 /usr/bin/ssh-agent
/usr/bin/gpg-agent --daemon --sh
--write-env-file=/home/bigbird/.gnupg/gpg-agent-info-ramdass
/usr/bin/dbus-launch --exit-with-session x-session-manager

bigbird at ramdass:~/pq$ kgpg

bigbird at ramdass:~/pq$

ps shows it to be running after this, but no gui appears.

I poked around a bit and found that
kgpg --help works and
kgpg -d starts a kgpg editing window

so it's sort of there, but I don't know how to get to the key management
window to do all the good stuff.

I tried reinstalling kgpg and then removing it and installing it again
(no purge) with a few reboots sprinkled in between for good measure, but
it didn't seem to make a difference.

Any idea how I can get it working again?

TIA

Joe
