I am wondering if someone can explain this to me. I got my wireless to work
with Linux Mint 11.

I had to make some adjustments.

rfkill list all
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
1: acer-wireless: Wireless LAN
Soft blocked: yes
Hard blocked: no

Was not able to get on.

if I did this the wireless would work

sudo rmmod -f acer-wmi
sudo rfkill unblock all
rfkill list all

sudo su
echo "blacklist acer-wmi" >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
gedit /etc/rc.local
I also had to add rmmod -f acer-wmi
rfkill unblock all to that file to make it permanent.

Would someone be able to explain to me in english Why it works now. and would
I now be able to use the same procedure to get the wireless to work on any
distro.

Thank you.
